I’ve always admired artists and designers who can use space to tell a story—those who create a mood or a moment the way a great film does. That’s what drew me to design in the first place. Whether I’m walking into a home for the first time or seeing it evolve through the stages of a project, I instinctively imagine the scenes that may have unfolded there—the quiet mornings, the dinner parties, the chapters of life written in that space.
Meeting new clients is one of my favorite parts of the process. I approach it much like reading character development in a script. I want to understand who they are, what they value, how they live, and what they’re dreaming of. My goal is to honor the architecture and history of a space while also making room for the new stories my clients will create there.
This holistic approach—where history, context, and personality come together—is something I see in the work of the designers I most admire. It’s also what I strive to bring to every project. Design should be beautiful, yes—but even more, it should feel lived-in, authentic, and deeply personal.
